Course description:

The course provides an overview of current assistive technologies used in health care and social care, which in many cases are also subject to decisions on contributions by public administration. The course will introduce students to technologies supporting independence, independence and quality of life of people with disabilities. They will teach them the basic technical principles of the construction of these devices. The teaching is practically focused – it includes work with specific aids, devices, systems and software used in long-term care for patients, seniors or clients with mobility and other limitations. The teaching takes place, among other things, on real examples and cases of clients who, depending on their health condition, are available online during the lessons and provide valuable feedback and suggestions for assignment and implementation of practical examples.
