Government scholarships for studies at universities in the Czech Republic are established pursuant to Resolution No. 870 of the Government of the Czech Republic of 27 November 2024, under the joint foreign development assistance programme of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Health.

Scholarships for studies in Czech are available to support studies in follow-up master's degree programmes.

Scholarships are awarded for the standard duration of full-time studies including a one-year language and professional preparation course in Czech, which takes place prior to the start of university studies.

For the academic year 2027/2028, Czech Government scholarships for studies in the Czech language are offered exclusively to citizens of the following countries:

  • Bosnia and Herzegovina,
  • Georgia,
  • Ukraine,
  • Belarus (democratic opposition).

Only nationals of the countries listed above who are not enrolled at a university in the Czech Republic at the time of the submission of their application may apply for a scholarship under this call for applications.

Citizens of the Czech Republic, citizens of the European Union and other foreign nationals with permanent residence permits in the Czech Republic are not eligible for the scholarship.

All applicants are required to complete the online application form by 30 September 2026 at the latest. Successful applicants will begin their studies in the academic year 2027/2028.
