North Macedonia: Summer courses in Macedonian language for students and teachers of Masaryk University

Apply for scholarshipOpens in a new window

The summer language courses for international students are organised by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Northern Macedonia in cooperation with local universities. The programme may include intensive language lessons (focusing on grammar and phonetics practice, vocabulary development, conversational skills, etc.) or a series of lectures on culture, history, literature and local realities. Before the course begins, students are usually divided into study groups according to their language skills, usually on the basis of a placement test. Classes, led by experienced native speakers, are often combined with an accompanying programme consisting of guided walks, visits to museums and monuments, film evenings and theatre performances.

The International Seminar on Macedonian Language, Literature and Culture is organised by the Cyril and Methodius University of Skopje. The venue is the south-western city of Ohrid.

Participation at the summer courses is funded by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Northern Macedonia.
