Course description:
This course focuses on optimizing and parallelizing Python code for high-performance computing (HPC). Students learn performance measurement, NumPy vectorization, code compilation with Cython and Numba, and distributed computing with Dask, MPI, and Ray. Part two covers GPU acceleration (RAPIDS, DeepSpeed), native code integration, and HPC cluster management with SLURM. The course combines theory with intensive hands-on exercises on real systems. Designed primarily for scientists and developers who need to accelerate applications by 10-100x and work with massive datasets across distributed systems.
