Academy of Arts Architecture & Design in Prague
WHAT SETS UMPRUM APART? High competition for places results in a small student body, which nurtures an individual approach to each student across the school’s respective studios and study programmes. Students taught by renowned professors and leading authorities in their respective fields as well as by international guest professors, who are invited each semester as part of the Visiting Artist Studio. Specialised above-standard workshops in each field of study complemented by a wide range of theoretical classes. Two gallery spaces in the centre of Prague for use by students. Historic library with a vast collection of publications in multiple languages. Collaborative projects between students and Czech and international manufacturers such as Škoda Auto, Volkswagen, Nike, Mikov, Bomma, Preciosa, Vitra, Hermés, Baťa, and Moser Glassworks. Students take part in prestigious international exhibitions and design fairs including Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan, Ars Electronica Festival, Brussels Design September or Dutch Design Week. Bilateral agreements with more than 60 European and non-European partner schools and membership in CUMULUS – the International Association of Universities and Colleges of Art, Design and Media and ELIA – a globally connected European network that provides a dynamic platform for exchange and development in higher arts education.
