Prague University of Economics and Business - Faculty of Informatics and Statistics
The aim of the master's study programme in Data Analysis of Policies is to prepare specialists capable of applying quantitative methods, economic principles and data-based approaches to the analysis, design and evaluation of public policies. The programme aims to equip students with knowledge of statistical and econometric methods, an understanding of the functioning of the public sector, and the ability to interpret empirical findings in an economic and institutional context. The programme develops competences required for processing data-based evidence, assessing the impacts of public measures, and formulating analytically grounded recommendations for decision-making processes in public administration, research organisations, the non-profit sector, international institutions and consulting practice.
After graduation, you will be able to: - analyse economic and social issues related to the design, implementation and evaluation of public policies, - assess the impacts of public measures and interpret their consequences for different population groups, institutions and economic agents, - apply economic principles when evaluating rules, incentives, institutional settings and the decision-making of actors, - select appropriate analytical approaches to address issues in various areas of public policy, in particular social, health, education, labour market, fiscal, environmental and trade policy, - use modern software tools for data processing, analysis and visualisation, - formulate expert recommendations based on empirical evidence and prepare supporting materials for decision-making processes, - present analytical results clearly to both professional and broader audiences.
The Prague University of Economics and Business (VŠE) is the largest economics-focused university in Czechia and one of the leading business schools in Central and Eastern Europe. You can choose from degree programmes in economics, finance, management, informatics and international relations, taught in Czech and English. During your studies, you build analytical thinking, data skills and the ability to apply theory in real-world contexts. The international AACSB accreditation confirms the quality of education at VŠE. Only a small percentage of business schools worldwide hold it. Teaching is closely linked with practice. You work on real projects with companies, complete internships and meet experts from business and the public sector as part of your courses. VŠE has an extensive network of partner universities, so you can study abroad across Europe and beyond. Graduates combine academic knowledge, language skills and practical experience. They find career opportunities in consulting, finance, IT, public administration and international institutions, often already during their studies.
