This study programme prepares you to train experts in the advanced design, development, and application of information technologies in complex management systems, utilizing modern methods and a data-driven approach. The programme focuses not only on information systems but also on data structures, big data management, and the ability to apply data analysis and other methods, including optimization techniques. Considerable attention is also devoted to modern and forward-looking approaches based on adherence to FAIR data principles and the trends of open data and data management. The study programme offers two specializations (Information Systems and Technologies and Business Informatics), which share a common foundation and aim to allow students to pursue a more specialized focus in line with their professional preferences. The Information Systems and Technologies specialization (Faculty of Science) focuses on the design, development, and implementation of information systems and technologies. Graduates will gain theoretical knowledge regarding the construction of robust information systems from the perspective of their architecture, mathematical principles, large-scale data structures, security, and lifecycle. They will become familiar with the fundamentals of applying advanced analytical methods and data analysis. Furthermore, they will acquire practical skills in the design, development management, and implementation of information systems and their deployment within the context of contemporary infrastructure paradigms, utilizing modern distributed technologies and their intercommunication.

Graduates of the Master’s programme in Applied Computer Science possess theoretical knowledge and specialized skills in the field of computer science and its applications. You acquire a solid foundation in theoretical principles related to data and information processing, computational complexity, implementation efficiency, the design and management of data structures, information system security, modern communication technologies, and their security. Graduates will gain an overview of and understand the principles upon which modern information technologies and systems are built; they will be able to address requirements related to the development and deployment of new technologies, including potential involvement in research and development in these areas. Emphasis is also placed on mastering professional communication in English, at a minimum at the B2 level. During their studies, graduates are guided toward teamwork and cooperation not only within but also outside of project teams, with an emphasis on mentoring and leadership.
