The Biophysics study programme will prepare you for work in a multidisciplinary field based primarily on physics, while also incorporating chemistry and biology. You will gain both theoretical and practical skills for applying modern physical methods to the study of (not only) chemical and biological systems, including molecules, cells, and entire organisms. Study

The Bachelor’s degree programme in Biophysics is designed to provide graduates with the necessary physics courses and practical training applicable to the field of biophysics, as well as essential knowledge in chemistry and biology, including hands-on laboratory experience in both disciplines. Students also have the opportunity to broaden their knowledge through specialized courses in physics, biology, biochemistry, and other relevant subjects offered by the university. As part of the bachelor’s thesis, You gain experience working with state-of-the-art equipment in a top-level scientific laboratory. Graduates are primarily prepared to continue into the follow-up Master’s programme in Biophysics; however, the broad scope of the programme also enables them to pursue further studies in programmes such as Physics for Measurement and Modeling, Physics Education for Secondary Schools at the Faculty of Science of the University of South Bohemia, as well as physics, biophysics, and related programmes at other universities. At the same time, graduates are professionally and practically prepared to work as technicians with undergraduate-level higher education in innovation, development, and industry, both in laboratories and in practical applications.
