University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice - Faculty of Health and Social Sciences
You will be able to work in the field of clinical nutrition in health care, spa and social care settings. They will gain knowledge to correct basic nutritional problems, prevent disease and provide nutrition for patients of all ages. Graduates will be licensed to practice the health profession without professional supervision.
New students are admitted once a year, and entrance exams for the following academic year are usually held in June. 1) Submission of an electronic application via the STAG system. 2) Payment of the admission procedure fee. 3) Submission of the required documents (e.g. medical certificate, secondary school leaving certificate, diploma depending on the type of study). 4) Completion of the entrance examination, if required for the given study programme. 5) Evaluation of the admission procedure and publication of results. 6) The possibility to file an appeal against a rejection decision within the specified deadline.
Students will learn to apply the principles of therapeutic and healthy nutrition, participate in the development of nutritional standards and screening methods, collect, analyse, and evaluate nutritional histories, design meal plans and prescribe diets for individual patients as well as for healthcare institutions, including calculations of nutritional and energy values, provide counselling and education to individuals, families, and groups in the areas of healthy and therapeutic nutrition, including recommendations on appropriate dietary supplements. Career opportunities include positions such as Dietitian/Nutrition Therapist: in hospital inpatient departments, Dietitian/Nutrition Therapist: in specialised outpatient healthcare facilities (public and private), Dietitian/Nutrition Therapist: in spa, rehabilitation, and wellness centres, Dietitian/Nutrition Therapist: in specialised centres for preventive and sports medicine, Dietitian/Nutrition Therapist:n social care and educational institutions.
