The doctoral study programme prepares specialists for the full spectrum of zootechnical research. Graduates are equipped to independently and creatively address complex problems in the fields of morphology and physiology of farm animals, molecular biology, reproductive technologies, breeding, development of housing technologies, livestock hygiene, and animal health protection. They possess deep and systematic knowledge and understanding of theories, concepts, and methods, and are capable of developing and applying new methodological approaches. Graduates are experts able to design and implement the entire research process, including analysing the current state of knowledge, proposing their own research procedures and methodologies, conducting experiments, processing and interpreting results, and subsequently publishing them. They find employment in scientific, applied, industrial, and public administration sectors.

Submit the electronic “Application for Study at a Higher Education Institution” on the FZT USB website. Attach your CV and Master’s degree diploma, either as an officially certified PDF from authorised conversion – CZECH POINT or in paper form by post to the FZT USB Student Affairs Office. If you cannot submit the diploma with the application, provide it by enrolment day. International applicants submit proof of English or Czech at minimum B2 through a recognised certificate and send the FZT USB International Relations Office a copy of a nostrified document confirming a state final examination equivalent to a Master’s degree in Czechia. FZT USB may require further originals or certified documents. You demonstrate prerequisites in an oral interview; internationals may use MS Teams.

Graduates of the doctoral study programme possess advanced theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of zootechnical research. They are capable of independently and creatively solving complex problems related to the morphology and physiology of farm animals, molecular biology, reproductive technologies, breeding, housing systems, livestock hygiene, and animal health protection. They have deep and systematic knowledge of theories, concepts, and methods and are able to develop and apply new methodological approaches. Graduates are experts capable of designing and carrying out the entire research process, including analysing the current state of knowledge, proposing research methodologies, conducting experiments, and processing, interpreting, and publishing results. They find employment in scientific, applied, industrial, and public administration sectors and are well prepared for leading expert and research positions.
