This doctoral study programme is aimed at modelling and diagnostics of nonequilibrium discharge plasmas, study of film growth and surface modification processes, design and investigation of novel plasma sources for thin film deposition and surface modification, and the study of thermomechanical processes in materials. You learn how to find solutions for fundamental problems in the fields of discharge plasma physics, plasma chemistry, surface physics and physics of thin-films, which arise from the formation and investigation of a new generation of thin film materials with unique physical and functional properties. Moreover, students can gain valuable experience when participating in international work or study exchange programmes. You will have the possibility to work in international research teams and to present their results at international scientific conferences. Graduates are highly qualified researchers who can create their own research teams and further develop their specialization.
