Do you want to become a professional social worker and help others? Social work is one of the traditional professions which is based on compassion and human relationships. Its study deepens personal development and enhances personal values. You gain in-depth general knowledge and specialise on a target group, which enables them to create their own professional identity as a social worker. Therefore, already during their studies, they decide whom they want to help.

The study programme Social Work aims at educating experts who are able to independently and comprehensively perform activities related to their profession and provide social services. Students focus on three basic areas, namely social counselling, social services and prevention of social problems. These services include, for example, establishing contact with the social environment of a client, carrying out social therapeutic activities, ensuring the physical and mental self-sufficiency of clients in order to support their life in their natural environment or preventing social exclusion of people endangered by a social crisis, life habits or poor living conditions. After graduation, you can work as social workers in organizations providing social services according to Act No. 108/2006 Sb., on Social Services, as well as in state administration and local and regional institutions (in the field of social and legal protection of children, probation and mediation services, care for seniors, people with disabilities, etc.). They can also work as social workers in healthcare, education, for the Ministry of Justice, for the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, at offices and in non-governmental organizations.
