This study programme includes a comprehensive range of subjects which will broaden students' knowledge of civil engineering. *********** The aim of the study programme Design and Construction of Buildings is to deepen the theoretical and practical knowledge of students who studied civil engineering or a similar bachelor programme and to provide students with knowledge of material, construction, energy and operational-technological solutions of modern buildings. Modern trends are characterized by the implementation of advanced construction materials and technologies, dematerialization of structures, high complexity, reduction of energy intensity, and environmental impact within so-called sustainable development. At the same time, the importance of the safe operation of buildings is increasing. Emphasis is placed on fire safety, resistance of buildings against extreme effects (explosions, floods, vehicle crashes) and protection of users. *********** The aim of the study programme Facility Management is to deepen theoretical and practical knowledge of the management and care of modern buildings and their users. The study programme is designed for graduates of technical, economic and legal programmes, as well as for experts. The programme reflects the current demands on material, construction, energy, technology and operational-economical solutions of modern buildings in social and managerial contexts. Modern trends in the management and operation of buildings are characterized by increased complexity, reduced energy intensity, and reduced environmental impact within so-called sustainable development. Emphasis is placed on computer modelling as well as on independent and creative work. After graduation, students have the possibility to find employment in the areas of building design or civil engineering management. They can also continue their studies in doctoral programmes. *********** The study programme Design and Construction of Buildings is designed to provide students with knowledge of technical aspects, with a focus on advanced materials, design and technology, reconstruction and diagnostics of modern buildings, optimization of indoor environmental quality, and environmental and economic-managerial skills. Part of the study is mandatory professional practical training completed at one of the industrial partners, or another appropriate company chosen by the student. Industrial partners include important local and multinational construction companies, such as Berger Bohemia, Subterra and Metrostav, and development groups, such as Intercora, as well as cities and large companies owning or managing extensive real estate assets - e.g. Škoda Auto a.s., Prague Airport a.s., etc. Graduates of this study programme are equipped with skills for the performance of senior positions, especially in design, implementation and expert teams in the areas of design and construction of buildings. Moreover, they can work for building authorities and departments. *********** The study programme Facility Management is multidisciplinary, as it includes courses focused on technical, environmental, economic and managerial disciplines, which enable graduates to manage investment portfolios as well as individual properties. Part of the study is mandatory professional practical training completed at one of the industrial partners, or another appropriate company chosen by the student. Industrial partners include important local and multinational construction companies and development groups, such as Intercora, as well as cities and large companies owning or managing extensive real estate assets - e.g. Škoda Auto a.s., Prague Airport a.s., etc. After graduation, you can find employment in development companies, property management departments, and state institutions, as well as at financial institutions dealing with loans for construction investments. Graduates have the necessary skills to represent a future owner or user in selecting the right property for an acquisition and to secure funds for an investment. Moreover, they can manage the functionality and operational optimization of future buildings at the stage of commissioning. Graduates ensure facility management and cooperate with project teams and implementation companies during construction and reconstruction works. Experts in this profession have been demanded on the labour market for a long time.
